Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors, answer phones, and respond to inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage the reception area, including answering calls, taking messages, and scheduling appointments.
- Update and maintain patient records, medical histories, and billing information.
- Perform vital sign checks and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as data entry and filing.
- Utilize retail sales skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Demonstrate physiology knowledge and patient care skills.
- Familiarity with medical records and HIPAA regulations is essential.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Use retail math skills to manage cash handling and reconcile cash receipts.
- Provide support for ophthalmology clinics and other medical procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all medical facility policies and procedures.
- Develop a rapport with patients and staff to create a welcoming and comfortable environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of medical records and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
- Experience with vital signs and patient care.
