POSITION SUMMARY
The Elementary School Principal will be responsible for overseeing students in grades K 4 through 5. This individual will play a key role in shaping the design and culture of our school, ensuring every student receives a nurturing, rigorous education. As a leader, the principal will foster a data-driven and inclusive environment, collaborate with staff and community members, and drive the implementation of best practices to ensure student achievement and well-being. This individual must be deeply committed to equity and excellence, capable of inspiring and leading a team, and open to feedback for continuous growth. The principal will also work closely with faculty to establish academic goals, ensure curriculum alignment, and implement data-driven decision-making processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional and School Leadership
- Lead with a commitment to academic excellence and student success for grades K4 - 5.
- Collaborate with staff to create a vision and implement a strategic plan that emphasizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
- Develop and manage an effective curriculum that aligns with state and school standards, ensuring students meet their academic goals.
- Lead the design and implementation of daily schedules, professional development, and school-wide academic and behavioral expectations.
Coaching and Support
- Regularly observe and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Lead the professional development of staff, offering guidance and mentorship to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.
- Set high expectations for academic achievement, ensuring consistent support for diverse learners, including English learners and students with IEPs.
Data-Driven Culture
- Foster a data-driven school culture by assessing student progress through MAP testing and Forward Testing, using data to drive decision-making.
- Set measurable goals for academic achievement, attendance, and college readiness, using data to track progress and adjust strategies as needed.
School Culture
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture where all students feel safe, respected, and engaged in learning.
- Work closely with families and the community to ensure strong partnerships and open lines of communication.
- Lead and participate in extracurricular programs that support students’ social and emotional development.

- Increase Student Attendance: Raise overall student attendance to 90%.
