Position Overview
Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with a degree in accounting or relevant experience in bookkeeping and financial management. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in managing accounts payable and maintaining accurate financial records to support the school’s day-to-day operations.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and eager to contribute to the financial health of a mission-driven educational institution serving Milwaukee’s north side.
Key Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable, ensuring all approved purchases are properly documented and recorded in Bill.com and QuickBooks Online.

Process invoices and payments, and maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.

Track and record federal and state funding, ensuring correct allocation and compliance with regulations.

Perform monthly bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Support financial audits by providing required reports and documentation.

Collaborate with school leadership to ensure financial compliance and accurate reporting.

Reconcile credit card transactions using Divvy.

Assist with general accounting duties and participate in special projects as needed.
