What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN/Medical Assistant position at Dr. Kowal's Rheumatology Office?
We are seeking an LPN/Certified Medical Assistant to join our established rheumatology office. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, responsible, and have at least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or LPN with IV experience.
Part-Time or Full-Time available. Benefits available for full-time position only.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Perform chart review for upcoming appointments to ensure that labs and other reports have been received
- Take vital signs, triage patients, administer injections, and IV therapy as needed
- Perform detailed review of medications and medical history
- Return patient calls & portal messages
- Communicate lab results reports to patients
- Refill medications / prior authorizations
- Assist with scheduling procedures and follow up appointments
- Assist with maintaining patient flow to ensure patients are seen timely and efficiently
- Other clinical and administrative duties as assigned by the practice
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ Medical Assistant or LPN experience
- Valid Florida LPN License or Certified Medical Assistant
- Proficient in insertion of IV catheters, subcutaneous and intradermal injections.
- Knowledge of drug uses, dosages, and calculations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet patient workflow requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
