Be an essential part of our team by assisting the optometrist in pretesting patients and providing exceptional patient care.

The Optometric Technician position covers two (2) office locations: Peoria (85383) and Desert Ridge (85050) 

Must be Available to Work "full shifts" 5 out of 7 days each week (WEEKDAYS and WEEKENDS) based on business needs
  • Will not schedule at more than one location during the same day
 Working Environment:
  • On-site, inside of our practices (no remote work available)
  • DNA Eye Group scrub top uniform
  • Patient care and customer service 
  • Sitting, standing, and moving around to different rooms
  • Extended periods on the computer and examination equipment
  • Multi-phone lines
  • Ability to work at different locations
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent. Customer service and optometry office experience preferred.  
 
Essential Duties:
  • Greet patients by providing professional and friendly customer service
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, insurance verifications, patient check in and out processes, collect copays, patient intake duties, and referrals
  • Enter patient data, maintain patient demographics, HIPAA compliance confidential data
  • Explain processes to prepare patients for pretesting, perform vision pre-screenings, take legible notes during examinations, transition patients to doctors
  • Provide exceptional patient care
  • Promptly review and reply to voice messages 
  • Perform minor maintenance on examination equipment or contact the supervisor 
  • Daily office cleaning and sanitation of examination equipment
  • Perform and document no show, NEE, and courtesy reminder calls
  • Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and fellow teammates
  • Ability to be scheduled at different office locations during the week
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential for our patient care
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience using optical pretesting equipment 
  • Evidence of strong working relationship with doctors
  • Experience in customer service
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
  • Ability to self-motivate with the experience to work under pressure
  • Optometric technician certification or Associate's degree, optometric technician
  • Associates or higher degree in the medical, human relations, or related fields
