Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient management, and infection control protocols.

Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and treatment plans accurately in the system.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including patient check-in and check-out.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and maintain a sterile working environment.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with patience and care for young patients.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices, medical terminology, and infection control procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Experience with dental receptionist duties is a plus, including managing patient records and scheduling appointments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new systems and technologies within the dental field.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 – 32 per week

Experience:

• Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
