The role of the Senior Companion Program Coordinator is to assist in the development and maintenance of programs based on volunteer and client needs.
Program Coordinator’s Role:
The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the daily management of the AmeriCorps Senior Companion Program. The Coordinator functions as a working assistant, actively involved with community organizations, AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers in SCP, and volunteer stations. The Coordinator serves as the point of contact for volunteers and clients and passes on information as required to Program Director.
This includes the following responsibilities:
• Assess and understand volunteer and client needs.
• Ensure programs run efficiently and within parameters of policy and procedures for various funding grants.
• Suggest and implement enhancements to current program or new potential programs.
• Utilize resources within budget.
• Recruit and coordinate volunteer assignments.
• Assist with tracking, evaluating, and reporting effectiveness of program.
• Assist with fundraising activities.
• Promote community awareness of programs by providing information through speaking to individuals or groups.
• Assist in development of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the national sponsor of the Senior Companion Program.
• Provide input and testimonies and/or stories to be used for quarterly newsletter to include SCP Volunteer spotlight.

Educational Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or high school diploma with experience in Senior engagement.
• Training and/or experience in working with those over 55 years of age and volunteers.
• Flexibility, management skills, computer literacy, and personal transportation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary for preparing written reports and giving oral presentations and assisting in training.
• Ability to attend after hours and weekend meetings/event to include regional travel.
Salary : $37,000 - $40,000
