Dr. Schar USA, Inc. is a division of Dr. Schar AG headquartered in Burgstall, Italy with over 35 years of experience manufacturing gluten-free and innovative special nutritional foods. We are currently seeking an Logistics Coordinator to add to our growing team in Swedesboro, NJ.
Job Overview: This position reports to the Logistics Manager and will oversee inbound freight, inventory management and logistics functions. This person will be responsible for cross training in all logistics functionalities. Primarily responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to secure on-time delivery and solve operational deviations as well as optimizing filling rate. Deductive reasoning and proactive problem solving skills are required to solve for issues where not all information or facts are present.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cross-train across all logistics operations functionalities, including inbound freight, inventory management, outbound shipping, and warehouse management.
- Monitoring shipment deviations and updating relevant fields in ERP system
- Plan and schedule inbound and outbound shipments to meet internal and external customer needs. Ensure timely delivery by working closely with logistics service providers and internal teams.
- Review and organize shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and customer service requirements. Update shipping documentation, including container tracking reports, on a daily basis.
- Monitor shipment deviations and address operational issues promptly, updating relevant fields in the ERP system. Solve problems related to shipping and receiving, proactively communicating with service providers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Organize warehousing for goods, ensuring smooth inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Work with external warehouses and service providers to verify inbound and outbound order quantities. Evaluate service provider invoices and challenge any extra cost items, looking for opportunities to reduce inbound costs and improve logistics strategies.
- Develop and track inbound logistics KPIs, including managing claim registration for deviations and operational issues.
- Evaluate service provider invoices and record associated costs. Proactively investigate and challenge extra cost items while seeking opportunities to reduce inbound costs.
- Coordinate and interact with global headquarters and multiple global entities to ensure consistency and smooth operational flow across locations.
- Participate in logistics-related projects aimed at optimizing and improving operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in supply chain, inventory management, or planning roles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess data and derive actionable insights.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
