- Opticians in Training start at $17.00 per hour base pay.
- Receive a $0.50 raise as soon as 30 days after completing the Tavel Pre-Test Certification.
- Receive another $0.50 raise and become eligible for monthly bonuses as soon as 60 days (approx. 30 days after first raise) after completing the Tavel Optician Certification.
- Additional Bilingual Pay for:
- Spanish Fluency – additional $0.50 per hour added to base
- American Sign Language (ASL) – additional $0.50 per hour added to base
- Burmese Fluency – additional $1.00 per hour added to base
- Conduct thorough consultations with patients to understand their vision requirements, lifestyle preferences, and budget constraints
- Provide guidance and assistance to patients in selecting frames that complement their facial features, style preferences, and prescription needs
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care, lens cleaning techniques, and the benefits of different lens options
- Process accurate orders for eyewear products, including lenses, frames, and accessories
- Provide repair services for damaged eyewear and perform routing maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of patients’ eyewear.
- Schedule appointments, verify insurance eligibility, and authorizing benefits
- Staying up to date with training to advance your skills and knowledge
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be able to attend mandatory two-week paid training period without absences
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to provide personalized assistance and recommendations to meet patients’ individual needs
- Good sense of time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficient in using a computer and navigating multiple windows/screens for order processing and record-keeping
