What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Receptionist position at Dr. Timothy J. Wilson & Associates Optometrists?
This candidate for our receptionist must be professional, friendly, courteous, and composed.
Strong multi-tasking, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required; knowledge of the optometry industry is preferred, however, other medical experience will be beneficial as well.
This person needs to be assertive, organized, and have leadership skills. This position offers room for growth and professional development.
Prior medical office experience and knowledge of eyewear, testing procedures, charts, and billing will benefit a job applicant, but those with a polished image, hard-working attitude, and good customer service skills would still be considered.
DUTIES:
Our receptionists interface with patients and doctors. They answer phone calls, schedule appointments within the office policies, check patients in and out, maintain charts, scan documents, complete confirmation calls, and greet patients. The receptionist is also responsible for regular office duties, light cleaning, keeping track of supplies, and maintaining office equipment. Other duties may include:
- Confirmation Calls
- Annual Appoitment Calls
- Maintaining the Doctor's schedule, looking ahead at scheduling conflicts
- Assisting with Record Releases
- Multi-tasking
- Ensuring the front office is complying with office policies and procedures
- Verfiying Insurance and Insurance Authorizatins
- Promoting in office products and services
- Social media content

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 32 per week
