What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Dr. William Tsiaras and Associates?
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our ophthalmology office. The Ideal candidate is motivated, reliable and able to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment. While prior experience in this field is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who is eager to learn.
Responsibilities:
Greet and check in/out patients
Verify patient demographics and medical insurance
Answer phones calls, handle faxing, and manage filling tasks
Schedule and confirm appointments for all 3 doctors
Process insurance referrals
Triage calls for emergency visits (if a technician is unavailable)
Maintain the basic understanding of eye diseases (cataracts, glaucoma, macular dengeneration and etc.)
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and customer service. Prior experience in a medical office (preferred but not required). Knowledge of medical insurance and ophthalmology terminology is a plus.
