Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental inspections at construction sites, facilities, and other locations to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Identify and report any environmental violations or risks, such as pollution, hazardous waste management, and water/air quality issues.
- Collect and analyze samples of soil, air, water, and other environmental media for testing and compliance purposes.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to implement best practices and ensure environmental standards are met.
- Monitor compliance with environmental permits, including waste disposal, stormwater management, and air quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, violations, permits, and corrective actions.
- Stay updated on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide recommendations for improvements to mitigate environmental risks and enhance sustainability efforts.
- Participate in environmental audits and risk assessments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in environmental inspections or environmental compliance roles (2 years preferred).
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Ability to read and interpret environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools, environmental monitoring equipment, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.
