Hourly rate $24.00 - $26.00
- Hands-On Mentorship: Work alongside experienced Survey Technicians and Survey Professionals on one of the largest federally funded projects in the United States.
- Practical Office Experience: Focus on the administrative and computational elements of surveying.
- Professional Development: Acquire real-world insights into how office-based surveying tasks support large-scale construction.
- Networking: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, managers, and technicians on a high-profile project.
- General Survey Monitoring & Reporting
- Assist with collecting, recording, and analyzing data for various survey tasks.
- Maintain databases and documentation for regular reporting.
- Coordinate with field crews to collect and file day-to-day data and reports.
- Survey Administration & Drafting
- Conduct data processing and drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and similar software.
- Help prepare stakeout packages, point data, and 3D models for construction tasks.
- Convert files and manage data imports/exports from GPS and robotic total stations.
- Cross-Training (Structural & Civil)
- Learn how to create and interpret 3D surfaces, profiles, and machine-control models for heavy construction.
- Occasionally observe field processes to understand how office-generated data is used on-site.
- Quality Assurance & Control
- Review survey data for consistency, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
- Identify discrepancies or issues, communicate findings to senior survey staff, and gain exposure in analyzing construction challenges.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with managers, survey admins, and survey technicians on office-based tasks.
- Uphold safety protocols and project standards where applicable.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing ideas and actively seeking feedback.
- Develop Foundational Surveying Skills in data management, computations, computer-aided drafting, and 3D modeling for heavy-civil construction.
- Gain Familiarity with Key Software, such as Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Tekla Structures
- Understand Field & Office Integration, from initial data collection to final deliverables.
