- Procurement Planning: Develop and execute procurement strategies for large civil projects, considering project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
- Supplier Administration: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with new and existing suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, material availability, and pricing fluctuations and prepare bid summaries/evaluations.
- Purchases Administration: Receive purchase requests from field and draft purchase orders and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and project requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to understand project needs and specifications.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary materials.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze and report on purchasing trends, costs, and potential savings opportunities.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve procurement-related issues promptly to avoid project delays.
- Procurement Department Support: Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction to support the needs of the Department.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related degree, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in heavy civil construction or related industries.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
