What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Equipment Technician position at Drake Cement and Materials?
We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Equipment Technician to join our team at Drake Cement and Materials. As an Electrical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine repairs and constructions of electrical systems, including installations, renovations, and modifications.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safe operation of our cement plant's electrical systems. To achieve this, you will need to prioritize safety in your daily work activities, complete JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) and work area exams prior to work execution, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions.
You will have a strong knowledge base in the maintenance and troubleshooting of AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, management control systems, calibration of field transmitters/transducers, pressure meters, temperature sensors, weigh scales, and low and medium voltage equipment.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, as you will be working closely with other team members and external contractors to ensure seamless operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety in daily work activity: Ability to complete JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) and work area exams prior to work execution.
- Perform preventative maintenance including installation, repair and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment.
- Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction.
- Must have strong knowledge in the maintenance and troubleshooting of AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, management control systems, calibration of field transmitters/transducers, pressure meters, temperature sensors, weigh scales, low and medium voltage equipment.
- Ability to perform installations and renovations compliant with regulatory agency standards, NFP 70 and current NEC Code.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participate in safety and environmental activities, and use plant and equipment correctly at all times.
