This allows Drake Controls to provide Woodward factory approved control solutions to customers worldwide.
Drake Controls is currently seeking a Control Panel Wireman for our Houston office.
Position Overview
The Control Panel Wireman is primarily responsible for the assembly, installation, troubleshooting and repair of controls and electrical systems.
General Responsibilities
× Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, symbols, and systems.
× Study drawings, schematics, manuals, software, and other pertinent information to determine the best solution and proper tools for system setup and/or problem resolution.
× Performs wiring modifications and repairs.
× Performs retrofits to existing electrical panels.
× Troubleshoots controls and instrumentation circuits.
× Installs, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair turbine and engine governing and protection systems.
× Repairs electrical system problems using a variety of electrical equipment, metering and testing devices, machines, and tools.
× Installs, terminates and label cables in accordance with regulatory requirements.
× Consult with engineering staff to define the scope of work for projects.
× Consult with engineering to resolve problems in order to meet or exceed customer expectations.
× Assist in the development of standards, procedures, manuals, and training programs for the engineering and technical work performed.
× Maintains a working knowledge of safety practices to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
× Participate in project and lessons learned meetings with engineering, sales, and customers.
× Support with shipping and receiving, QA/QC and Safety.
× Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
× Education: High School Diploma or GED.
× Technical certification or equivalent.
× Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
× Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
× Ability to communicate, written and oral, effectively with clients and other members of the staff.
× Detail-oriented.
× Knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Word, Power Point. Auto-CAD knowledge is a plus.
× Must have a positive attitude and work well with others.
× Strong desire for continued growth and learning.
× Must have a valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
× Company’s warehouse and customer’s job sites when required.
× Work requires hands-on activities.
× Exposure to noise, chemical solutions, dust, extreme temperatures, heights, and other hazardous conditions.
× Should be able to multi-task.
× Should be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
× Should be available to work and/or travel on short notice, when required.
× Should be available and reachable when on call (rotation with other engineering staff for call-out services is expected).
Work Hours
× Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm. regular schedule, however extended and irregular working hours may be required from time to time.
× Should be able to work weekends and holidays, when required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
