What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Front Office Assistant position at Drake Orthodontics?
We are looking for a Receptionist to help manage our front desk 3-4 days a week and to help perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. As one of our Receptionists, you will be the first point of contact for our company. Our Receptionist’s duties include welcoming guests and to greet patients who visit the business on a regular basis. This is essentially a customer service position where a pleasant personality each and every day is an absolute requirement. We are a family oriented business that treats a lot of return customers and we try to promote that type of environment in the practice. Your main responsibilities are to deal with scheduling patients, taking payments and scheduling patients over the phone, discussing financial contracts, managing insurance claims, along with other administrative tasks to help patients navigate their orthodontic experience. Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
- Direct visitors to the appropriate place within office
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
- Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
- Maintain office safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
- Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
- Update calendars and schedule appointments
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
- Learn new tasks and concepts that my not be administrative in nature
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role is a plus
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
- High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
