Salary : Summary :
The Extrusion Coating Technician supports the extrusion production team to ensure they produce quality products delivered on time. This includes knowledge of extrusion setups, proficiency with computers, hand tools, surface preparation and coating technology, and measurement devices. The Extrusion Coating Technician is expected to keep a clean and orderly workspace and maintain systems for tracking extrusion tools and extrusion setups.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities : to include, but are not limited to the following :
- Surface prep and coating of tools for extrusion production, medical production, and R&D.
- Maintaining heater, thermocouple, hardware, and extrusion tooling inventory.
- Head start" extrusion tooling setup, including hardware, heaters, and thermocouples so extrusion production staff has everything they need to set up extrusion lines efficiently. Footstep minimization.
- Use systems or best judgment to determine when tooling components have reached the end of their lifecycle and properly disposition them.
- Work alongside Extrusion management and Engineering to order new tooling or tooling rework when needed.
- Mark tooling with appropriate PNs and maintaining traceability.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all company safety, PPE, and compliance procedures.
Required Skills / Experience / Education :
Physical Demands : (as applicable)
Working with various sizes and shapes of tooling daily, up to 50 pounds. Will require standing regularly at long intervals and lifting / moving objects throughout the day. Regular use of a computer terminal also required. Appropriate use of PPE required for the task being done.
Work Environment / Schedule : (as applicable)
Primary shop or lab type environment working with product, hand tools, shop equipment, and report writing daily.
The Extrusion Coating Technician position primarily works within climate-controlled industrial buildings but is required to work on some outdoor projects. Will spend most of the day on your feet and working with your hands. The standard work schedule is 12-hour day shifts, averaging 42 hours a week with every other long weekend and holiday off.
