Role Summary

A Host at Drake’s WEHO is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests. As a Host, you will ensure each guest begins their experience with a positive and warm welcome and are able to seat guests according to availability. You are familiar with our reservations system and manage the flow of service by monitoring all private bookings, events, and walk-in guests. Hosts answer the phone with a smile and ensure that the guest feels well taken care when calling the restaurant, answering the phone within 3 rings.

Responsibilities and Requirements :

Previous experience in a lead host or maître d’ role at a high-end or fine dining restaurant.

  • Ability to provide concierge-level service , making guests feel welcome and valued while managing seating efficiently.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to develop guest rapport and recognize repeat patrons on a name-to-name basis.
  • Experience with RESY or similar reservation management systems , including reviewing reservation books, managing waitlists, and adjusting seating strategies in real time.
  • Attention to detail in reviewing guest profiles, photos, and special requests to ensure a seamless and personalized dining experience.
  • Ability to maintain and update the RESY database by adding notes during and after service, adjusting reservations for private events, and optimizing table turnover.
  • Strong menu knowledge , including understanding dietary restrictions, table numbers, and seating preferences.
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills to effectively relay information to both guests and teammates with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to lead and train other hosts , ensuring the front desk team delivers a consistent, high-quality guest experience.
  • Experience in handling VIP guests, special occasions, and high-pressure service situations with poise and efficiency.
  • Ability to execute opening, mid-shift, closing, and side work procedures , ensuring a well-organized and welcoming host stand.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to handle guest concerns, last-minute reservations, and unexpected seating challenges with grace.
  • Team-oriented mindset to collaborate with management, servers, and kitchen staff to optimize service flow and enhance guest satisfaction.
