Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid/remote role for a Regional Sr. Environmental Services Lead at Dramby Environmental Consulting. This position will oversee and manage a variety of field operations related to environmental services, including wetland assessments, species surveys for threatened and endangered species, environmental impact assessments (EIAs), and permitting. This role is also integral to daily environmental consulting activities, with a strong focus on leadership, project management, and client relationship management within our region.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and guide technical field teams to ensure projects are executed with high quality and within established timelines.
  • Project & Business Management: Manage environmental projects, including business development efforts, proposal assistance, and fostering strong client relationships to support company growth and satisfaction.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and engagement.
  • Virginia Operations: Lead business development efforts within Virginia, identifying opportunities, supporting proposal development, and representing the company at industry events and conferences.
  • Decision Making: Make strategic decisions in the best interest of the company with limited leadership oversight, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Contract Management: Oversee contracts, including the preparation of cost proposals, progress reports, and spending tracking.
  • Recruitment: Support recruiting efforts by assisting with identifying and hiring qualified candidates.
  • Performance Monitoring: Supervise environmental field staff, tracking performance, and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Environmental Documentation & Technical Studies: Lead the preparation and review of environmental documents (NEPA, CE, EA, EIS, CWA, etc.) and technical studies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply environmental regulations, policies, and laws to ensure compliance and successful project execution.
  • Cross-Selling Services: Promote other firm services to clients where applicable.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and evaluate assigned staff members, providing feedback and support for professional development.
  • Delegate tasks and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion and quality results.

Qualifications:

  • Proven project management abilities with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within scope.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with excellent time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in operating technical analysis tools and computer equipment with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze technical literature, regulations, guidance documents, and engineering plans.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, applying professional knowledge to solve both routine and complex environmental challenges.
  • Demonstrated expertise in environmental science and consulting, with the ability to provide insights and solutions across various environmental disciplines.
  • Capacity to work independently, successfully completing tasks and delivering high-quality reports and technical documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or master’s degree, preferred) from an accredited college or university, with a focus on Environmental Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in environmental consulting is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Professional Wetland Scientist, Virginia State Waters Delineator, and PWD
  • Approved Surveyor for SWP (preferred)
  • Recognized Qualified Bat Surveyor (preferred)
