Summary:
The Print Production Assistant supports the print production process by ensuring quality control, managing logistics of printed materials, and facilitating communication between departments. This role is crucial for meeting project deadlines and maintaining the high standards of our print production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Quality Control of Prints: Conduct thorough inspections of printed materials to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Managing Logistics: Coordinate and oversee pickups from local suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials needed for production.
- File Assistance: Provide backup support for the pre-flight graphics specialist by assisting in the review of client provided files for production as needed. Identifying common issues such as:
- Colors set to CMYK
- Fonts missing or not outlined
- Poor resolution / DPI high enough to size properly
- Missing images / Image sized appropriately
- Bleed missing or set up incorrectly
- Crop marks in viewable area
- Department Liaison: Act as a liaison between various departments to ensure smooth communication and timely completion of projects, particularly regarding shipping deadlines.
- Administrative Support: Assist in the acquisition and management of purchase orders for large format print products.
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, clear communication, and time management.
- Technical Proficiency: Adobe Creative Suite specifically Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Quality Control: Uphold rigorous quality control standards throughout the pre-flight and production process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and print quality. Review printed proofs and samples to validate print accuracy and address any errors or discrepancies.
- Blueprint Reading and Measurement: Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or related field preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in tradeshow, exhibit, event, theatrical, retail, or experiential event design, production, and/or management.
- Multi-task: Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including illustrator, also Microsoft teams and Excel.
- Communication: Strong communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. With the ability to work methodically and meet deadlines.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 5-15%.
- Bilingual: Spanish speaking is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position requires a balance of physical activity and also sitting at a computer.
- Ability to lift 20 lb boxes and maneuver large graphics on a worktable
