POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Recreation Manager and assigned under the direct supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, instructs youth and adult yoga classes. Responsible for performing yoga poses in precise alignment, using the correct terminology, and safely guiding students through the flow of the practice. Must be knowledgeable in the implementation of the chakra system and mindful meditation.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
- None.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts and leads yoga classes in an outdoor environment.
- Visually assesses students to determine their level of practice.
- Assists students to achieve precise alignment.
- Demonstrates practice and techniques.
- Transforms energy during the warm-up, build-up and cool-down stages.
- Offers training recommendations to improve the practice of yoga.
- Complies with all Draper City policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Age – Must be 18 years or older.
- Education – High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience – Prior experience in yoga instruction. Minimum 200 hours of yoga experience
- Licenses/Certifications –

- Yoga certified through Yoga Alliance.
- Valid Utah Driver License.
- First-aid certified.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position requires working indoors and outdoors. Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, reach, use hands/finger to feel, handle, and grip, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and/or see. (Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.) Occasional exposure to wet and humid conditions. (Performance of duties may require working in varied weather conditions such as extreme cold or hot conditions.) Occasional exposure to low and high levels of noise. Lift up to 20 pounds.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Work schedule will vary between day and night, as well as weekends, depending on the activity.
- Salary range: ($28.76 - $45.94 (Starting wage DOE, but not to exceed $32.00 per hour)
