Job Description Summary :
The Tailored Systems Business Area within Electronics Program Office directorate delivers first-of-a-kind field-ready microelectronics solutions in support of National Security missions. The Draper team is chartered with supporting the Nation's most challenging problems by 1) providing an iterative and agile approach to innovative and creative technical solutions delivered at the speed of mission and 2) driving leading edge technology development efforts to support future mission needs. This role will support a large multi-disciplinary team as part of a long-standing, fast-paced contract with history of immense success. We are seeking mechanical / manufacturing engineers who excel in fast-paced, dynamic work environments to deliver advanced technical solutions for USG customers. Engineers in this role will focus on production of new microelectronics products from prototypes through low-rate initial production. Candidates are required to have an in-scope TOP-SECRET clearance and will be expected to work in a classified environment with the current team in our Cambridge facility five days a week.

Duties / Responsibilities
- Performs mechanical design concept exploration, trade study analysis, down-selection, prototyping, and testing with minimal guidance from group leader.
- Help define the design approach for a particular problem and independently execute assignments.
- Contribute high quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance.
- Proactively identify needs and concerns associated with design decisions and communicate them to project leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills / Abilities
Education
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience
Requires 3-5 years with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or full cycle of mechanical design experience. 0-3 years experience with a master's degree.
