Shift Supervisor
Draslovka is seeking Shift Supervisors to join our growing Operations team! This position will report directly to the Unit Manager at our Memphis, TN location.
The Shift Supervisors will oversee production and emergency response shift activities for the Draslovka Memphis Plant in either the HCN Complex, including Power House, Amino Nitriles, TW/ECF environmental facilities or the SCN facility, including Shipping/Warehouse operations. The position will manage 7 or 8 shift direct reports from the appropriate areas. The role is to safely, maximize production to schedule in a cost-efficient manner while engaging team members in continuously improving operational performance. This First Line Supervisor position is assigned to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, reports directly to the appropriate Unit Manager and takes functional direction from the area Process Managers.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Coordinate daily work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
- Ensure adherence to established operations and safety policies and procedures; drive operational discipline.
- Maintaining standards in the areas of housekeeping, safety, attendance, operational discipline, Process Safety Management, and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Establish high performance standards and leads others in a firm and fair manner to comply with Plant rules, policies and standards.
- Collaborates with workers and managers to solve work-related problems
- Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear.
- Build a ‘Team” spirit aligned with Company Core Values driven to exceed performance expectations.
- Manage direct reports personal development utilizing personnel performance reviews and by working proactively with Site HR to reward excellence as well as administer corrective discipline appropriately.
- Responsible for training and qualifications of assigned shift personnel.
- Provides leadership to drive continuous improvement activities in the area.
- Effective communication up and down the line and ensuring that communications from team members are accurate and complete.
- Ensures work is completed in accordance with maintenance schedules
- Interfaces with Maintenance, Manufacturing Technical, Supply Chain, and various other personnel for coordination of production schedules and meeting customer needs.
- Anticipates and determines cause of delays in shift operations and takes appropriate action to meet production goals.
- This position is responsible for responding to and reporting personnel, operational, safety and environmental incidents
- Serve as Site Emergency Response Incident Commander.
- Manage all Medical emergencies for the site. Call in the appropriate Nurse for proper care if needed. Ensure all the proper notifications are made.
- Manage all Fire and Environmental Emergencies for the site. Ensure all the proper notifications have been made to the correct agencies or individuals.
- Maintain all Emergency Response equipment and Trucks to ensure their availability 24/7 for the site.
- Help training new emergency response team members.
The following is required for this role:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) OR Military Equivalent Experience.
- 3 - 5-years’ experience working in PSM High Hazard Operations.
- Willing and able to complete Incident Commander training and perform all Emergency Response duties.
- Work a 12-hour rotating schedule and able to travel and work overtime, when needed.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn, develop, and share new skills and knowledge with others.
- Must be able to manage and lead both strategic long-term programs/projects as well as address short-term operational issues
- Must be willing and able to perform tasks that require climbing, crawling, bending and lifting.
- Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment in a chemical manufacturing environment and emergency response scenario, including but not limited to, SCBA’s, Level-B and Level-A Suits.
- Demonstrated computer skills using PC-based applications such as MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
The following is preferred for this role:
- Operating experience with Highly Toxic Material
- Minimum of 2 years team management experience in an industrial or production-related role OR Military Equivalent Experience.
- Prior experience with SAP
- Demonstrated knowledge of plant safety and permitting procedures; safe work practices such as LTT, Confined Space, Line break and others.
- Operations, scheduling, and planning experiences
