About
the Role
The
BECCS Community Manager (US) is a critical part of the international team that
will support the rollout of new Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage
(BECCS) plants in the United States. Working closely with the North American
Communications, Public Affairs and Development teams, the post holder will help
to research, develop, and implement effective Community Engagement plans to
support Drax Group’s development of BECCS facilities.
You'll
report into the UK-based Group Head of Community, and also work closely with
the North America Communications, Public Affairs, and Community teams on
broader reputational strategy in the United States, to build understanding both
internally and externally and support the delivery of business
objectives.
You'll be responsible for building relationships with community
leaders, residents, non-profits, educational and civic organizations, local
elected officials, Chambers of Commerce, and others across existing and
potential BECCS locations in the United States, as well as delivering the
end-to-end community strategy for BECCS locations in the region.
In this
role, your key accountabilities will be as follows:
- Deliver Drax’s Community Strategy in BECCS markets to ensure that we are having a positive impact
- Build effective internal and external relationships
- Help to elevate Drax’s profile and reputation across US operations, and BECCS markets in particular
- Manage local events and community stakeholder engagement
- Track spending and progress of community projects to ensure they are meeting our goals
About
You
- Experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations and communications within a heavily regulated sector (in -person essential, as well as virtual)
- Experience in developing and managing community programming and associated budgets
- Storytelling and planning skills, ability to take complex information and make it accessible across a variety of channels, for multiple audiences
- Demonstrable experience in building community and key leader relationships, including in the NGO sector
- Experience of managing supplier relationships, including working with external agencies, in delivering against KPIs
Role includes regular travel to Drax sites across the United States, and some international travel (up to 20% of time may involve travel)

Salary : $49,200 - $62,300
