So, what will you be doing?
In this role, you will be responsible for collecting incoming fiber samples, measuring the moisture content and ensuring the data is uploaded into the system. Work in this position requires the ability to multi-task and fill in where required. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems required not limited to Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
About the Role:
Some of your day-to-day duties include:
- Monitor product quality, condition, and specifications to ensure incoming material is acceptable.Document issues and communicate with operations and procurement personnel, as needed
- Assist with process improvement projects designed to eliminate waste, improve product quality, and increase plan production efficiency
- Establish and maintain a well-organized area for collecting and analysing fiber samples.
- Proactively cross train in plant activities/projects
- Take ownership of personal development
- Adhere to agreed policies and practices to maintain an effective workplace capable of meeting its objectives
- Manage relationships internally and externally
- expertise and knowledge
Measures of Success:
- Instruct the drivers as needed to allow time for sample collection prior to leaving scale
- Inspect loads and query drivers as required
- Enter load information and customer/truck information into computer as needed for the moisture analyzing program
- Ensure that loads meet quality expectations and reject shipments as necessary
- Manage the data gathered from the drivers and the moisture analyzers
- Collect fiber samples at determined interval and operate moisture analyzing equipment after training is provided
- Ability to operate two-way radios
- Perform housekeeping duties as requested, responsible for keeping designated area clean and clear of safety hazards
- Provide prompt and courteous service to Drax customers
- Willingness to work flexible hours including unscheduled overtime, weekends and holidays

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2-5 years industrial experience
- Ability to adapt to working within a team or lone working environment, with minimal supervision
- Must have a professional/positive attitude and work well with others
