What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Studio Coordinator - New Home Construction position at DRB Homes?
JOB PURPOSE:
Assists the Design Studio Manager while providing excellent customer service, this position may work individually with customers as they select interior options and upgrades.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Design Studio Manager, may work with new home customers to select interior finishes such as cabinets, counters, flooring and lighting
- May advise customers on interior design functions (with respect to color, functionality, budget)
- May research custom requests by obtaining information on materials
- May meet with vendors as needed
- Responsible for complete and accurate paperwork related to customer selections
- Arrange appointment times/dates with new home customers; greet customers upon arrival to the design Studio
- Other duties as assigned or expected
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong creative ability (Background in Interior Design is preferred)
- Excellent presentation skills
- Well organized and self-directed
- Strong interpersonal skills with attention to detail
- Strong computer skills
- Able to establish priorities and meeting deadlines
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Must be current with design trends in a variety of styles
- Must have ability to read and understand architectural and structural blueprints
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends in a part time capacity
- Strong computer skills with MS Office and / or Builder Sales System
- AA or Bachelors’ Degree or certification in interior design or equivalent of three years of experience interior home design; or combination of education and equivalent work experience
- Prior experience in new home sales or design Studios is preferred
