JOB PURPOSE:
We are looking for a dedicated product owner to be the point person for our agile scrum teams. The product owner will be responsible for taking feature requirements and managing the product development process. Other responsibilities include supporting the scrum team, managing backlog items, and optimizing the value of the product(s). You should also be able to lead the product development team toward achieving the vision and mission of the organization.
As a product owner, you should have the ability to plan and manage the development project from start to finish, and ensure that the product(s) meet the customer's needs. Ultimately, a top-notch product owner will be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsibilities:
1. Define Product Features: Develop product features in alignment with the product management strategy.
2. Lead SDLC Contributions: Act as a key contributor throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure successful delivery of product capabilities.
3. Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between development teams and stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration.
4. Understand Customer Needs: Analyze customer and market needs, effectively communicating the optimal solutions to meet those demands.
5. Manage Product Backlog: Oversee product backlog items in accordance with prioritized strategies to ensure alignment with business goals.
6. Support Scrum Teams: Assist the scrum/product development teams in achieving the objectives of each sprint.
7. Iterate and Improve: Continuously adjust and enhance each product iteration prior to release based on feedback and testing.
8. Communicate Status: Keep customers and stakeholders updated on product status, including delivery progress and the impact of any disruptions on capacity.
9. Lead Customer Pilots: Facilitate customer pilot activities and gather participant feedback to inform product improvements.
10. Team Leadership: This position will lead multiple software development scrum teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with overall product goals.
- Desired Knowledge:
1. Familiarity with payment processing systems is highly desired. Understanding of platforms such as Stripe, Square, Worldpay, Fiserv, Datacap, and various wallet payment solutions is crucial for daily operations.
2. The product owner will also serve as a point of contact with several payment processor companies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position works under general direction of the Director of Program Management Office (PMO), exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in the department.
This position does not supervise any other personnel or reports.
