Summary
The position of Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing purchasing and logistics processes to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods and materials to support DRC Heat Transfer’s (DRC) operations. This role involves coordinating between internal departments, suppliers, warehousing, transportation providers and customers to optimize purchasing and transport operations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, college degree preferred, 2 years of purchasing and logistics related experience a plus. Experience with Microsoft Office required. Previous experience with ERP/MRP systems, bar-coding, ‘Visual Factory’ and ‘KanBan’ methodology a plus.

Summary
The position of Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing purchasing and logistics processes to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods and materials to support DRC Heat Transfer’s (DRC) operations. This role involves coordinating between internal departments, suppliers, warehousing, transportation providers and customers to optimize purchasing and transport operations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Place purchase orders for materials/components to support daily operations in multiple facilities.
- Manage purchase order exceptions, such as cancellations, expedites and deferrals and resolve any issues that may arise; communicate delivery issues to sales and production personnel.
- Maintain lead-time document for critical commodities.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Work with inventory department to resolve quantity and incoming inspection issues; assist Quality department with dispositioning of non-conforming material.
- Quickly address invoice/pricing discrepancies.
- Assist in new and/or existing supplier qualification and/or evaluation tasks.
- Coordinate and communicate timely inter-site transfer of material within DRC and warehousing partners.
- Oversee the scheduling and tracking of shipments from DRC to customers, and from suppliers to DRC, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with agreement terms. Includes domestic and international carriers.
- Prepare/review shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate shipments. Address and resolve any issues related to shipping delays, damaged goods, or other logistical problems.
- Responsible for 3PL and carrier selection, performance evaluation, document custody and retention, and reporting of delivery KPIs/metrics (i.e., on-time delivery, % of freight claims versus loads, $ recovery from freight issues, etc.).
- Analyze logistics processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Perform cost-containment and cost-reduction projects as assigned by Management.
- Assist with inventory activities.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Works within scope of position and direction; willingly accepts assignments
- Follows DRC policies and procedures
- Maintains confidentiality, security and standards of ethics with all DRC information
- Approaches change and difficult situations in a professional manner; demonstrates flexibility
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
- Accurately reports hours worked and time off
- Assists in keeping work area and equipment in safe working condition. Initiates correction of hazards as appropriate and/or notifies supervisor of hazards in a timely manner
- Performs duties in a manner that assures maximum safety to self and others. Operates equipment following manufacturer’s procedures and uses proper body mechanics
- In the event of a workplace incident or injury, immediately files first report with Safety Manager

- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between DRC’s 5 local facilities occasionally (in Melrose Park and Elk Grove Village)
