Description :
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Migration Specialist to lead and execute the transfer of our cloud-based services from one region to another region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, particularly with major provider like AWS and a proven track record of successful large-scale migrations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct a comprehensive inventory of all services, applications, and data in the current region
- Analyze dependencies between services and identify potential risks
- Develop a detailed migration strategy and timeline
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and tools that could benefit operations
- Design the target architecture in the new region, ensuring it meets or exceeds current performance standards
- Identify opportunities for optimization and modernization during the migration process
- Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations in the new region
- Coordinate with teams to execute the migration
- Manage the actual transfer of data, applications, and services to the new region
- Monitor and tune the performance of migrated services in the new region
- Identify and resolve any latency or connectivity issues
- Create comprehensive documentation of the new regional setup
- Regularly communicate progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders
- Manage expectations and timelines with business units affected by the migration
