What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Engineer - W2 position at DRC Systems?
Lead the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of the F5 appliances
Architect and engineer the F5 Local Traffic Manager
Develop iRules within the F5 appliances
- Manage Traffic Director Rules
- Manage Akamai's technology stack including CDN, Site Shield, API & App Protector, and DNS
- PKI and Certificate Management
- Manage DNS using Windows DNS Servers, F5 GTM, and Akamai DNS
- Review, configure, and respond to WAF and DDoS alerts
- Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and identify and isolate technical issues
- Capable of designing, testing, and completing the implementation of complex technical solutions and architecture
- Ability to lead and manage system initiatives and new projects
- Work with external vendors / consultants to diagnose complex problems and drive resolution
- Resolve errors and alarms quickly and provide timely escalation
- Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability of all site features and functions
- Position Requirements
- 3 years' experience as Windows Server Administrator
- 3 years of F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
- 3 years of F5 Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
- Understanding of and experience supporting IIS web servers.
- Understanding of and experience supporting .NET web applications
- Understanding of and experience with VMware vSphere
- Understanding of and experience with Akamai's technology stack including CDN, Site Shield, API & App Protector, and DNS
- Experience with tcpdump, Wireshark, and analyzing network traffic
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the OSI and TCP / IP network models
- Proven grasp of LAN and WAN networking protocols and technologies, including switching, routing, and security (e.g., Layer 4-7, firewall, DDoS, etc.)
