We are seeking Associate Attorneys with 0-2 years of criminal litigation experience to join our growing Chicago, IL office, with a focus on defending our client’s rights on any criminal matter, including sex offense crimes, violent crimes including murder, domestic violence, drug crimes, and DUIs. The Associate will work closely and collaboratively with David Drwencke (owner of DRD Law, LLC) to develop skills to sign clients, analyze evidence, and devise strategies tailored to each case and client in a fast-paced litigation environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background as well as:
- strong oral and written communication skills,
- a proven track record of high performance and measurable results,
- the ability to appear in court (Zoom and in-person), argue motions, conduct preliminary examinations and prepare for and attend trials,
- an eagerness to assume elevated responsibility and work within a highly functional team environment,
- an understanding of legal issues related to a criminal defense practice,
- moot court excellence and/or law review/journal experience,
- passion to give clients an exceptional representation,
- an innate curiosity,
- a reliable form of transportation to attend court hearings, and
- a State of Illinois license to practice law.
Candidates who have practical knowledge of any kind by working as a clerk or intern in a litigation environment, are efficient in legal writing (memos, motions, briefs), and have a passion for criminal litigation will be given the greatest consideration. Sales experience is a plus.
