Sonographer Position Description

Position Title: Sonographer
Reports To: Clinic Director
Status: 7-14 hours/week
Jobs supervised: Volunteers

General Administrative Duties:
- Able to work within an Electronic Health Record
- Participate in professional development and team building activities.
- Able to work general office machines (computer, copier/fax) and willing to learn how to use medical equipment as needed.
Sonography Duties:
- Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe areas of concern that will be presented to the Radiologist/Providers for diagnosis
- Conduct scans and write reports based on findings.
- Work under minimal supervision
- Maintain sonography equipment and supplies
- Prepare exam rooms for each patient and sterilize room and equipment based on CDC guidelines
- Use independent judgment whether or not to extend the scope of the ultrasound examination or not based.
- Interact and collaborate with providers and other health care professionals for providing a good quality of care for the patient
- Medical Administrative tasks at the discretion of the Medical Coordinator and Clinic Director.
Qualifications
Education:
A High School diploma or GED is required.
Graduate from a recognized training facility for Sonography.
Certificate/License
SPI completion and ARDMS preferred
BLS Certification within 3 months of hire
Experience in OB/GYN required.
