As our 2nd Assistant Superintendent, you’ll be right in the thick of it—working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to help shape the day-to-day operations and the long-term health of the course. About Wild Spring Dunes
Wild Spring Dunes will be a public golf resort and refuge with world-class golf, accommodations, and homesites. Two courses are routed with plans established for a short course and practice center.
Set on over 2,400 sandy, secluded acres, here you will find dramatic elevation changes that highlight four distinct and diverse ecosystems: towering pines and hardwood forest, open, grassy meadows, rolling hills, and steep ravines carved by spring-fed creeks that crawl through the secluded site. Wild Spring Dunes is an escape, a destination, a place to come together in community – a home for golf and wilderness lovers alike.
- Help guide our team through the daily rhythm of course maintenance—mowing, rolling, course setup, hand watering, bunker work, tree care, and all the other details that make a golf course truly shine.
- Applying fertilizers and chemicals with precision (and the proper certifications, of course).
- Maintaining and repairing the irrigation system—this includes sprinkler and valve repairs, pipe work, adjustments, electrical troubleshooting, pump station upkeep, recordkeeping, and operating the Toro Lynx system.
- Support agronomic planning, drainage projects, and solving problems that go beyond the typical manual.
- 2-4 year degree or certificate in turfgrass management or related field
- Minimum of 1 year experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping.
- Eligibility for a Texas pesticide applicator's license
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate golf course equipment
- Quality verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights and weekends
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations
