What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent (Construction) position at Dream Golf?
Who You Are
You understand that a golf course is more than grass and sand—it’s a carefully maintained landscape that requires attention and expertise. You have experience with course development and grow-in, and you take pride in maintaining high-quality playing conditions. In this role, you’ll work closely with leadership to ensure the course is well-maintained and meets top standards.
About Wild Spring Dunes
Wild Spring Dunes will be a public golf resort and refuge with world-class golf, accommodations, and homesites. Two courses are routed with plans established for a short course and practice center.
Set on over 2,400 sandy, secluded acres, here you will find dramatic elevation changes that highlight four distinct and diverse ecosystems: towering pines and hardwood forest, open, grassy meadows, rolling hills, and steep ravines carved by spring-fed creeks that crawl through the secluded site. Wild Spring Dunes is an escape, a destination, a place to come together in community – a home for golf and wilderness lovers alike.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with course development. Support the construction and grow-in phases, ensuring the course meets high standards.
- Maintain course systems. Oversee drainage, irrigation, and water management to keep the turf in top condition.
- Lead the team. Train and supervise maintenance staff, ensuring work is done safely and effectively.
- Manage budgets and schedules. Help plan and oversee maintenance costs, staffing, and operations to keep things running efficiently.
- Handle records and inventory. Track supplies, equipment, and agronomy program details to maintain smooth operations.
- Continue learning. Stay informed on industry best practices and new techniques to improve course management.
What You Bring:
- 2 years in golf course maintenance, with supervisory experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of agronomy, turf care, and golf course construction/grow-in.
- Experience with fescue? Even better.
- Strong leadership skills—you know how to build, inspire, and manage a team.
- The ability to think strategically, solve problems, and adapt on the fly.
- A degree in a related field? That’s a plus.
