Description
- Providing advocacy as needed to ensure patient knows and understands his/her rights.
- Ensuring patient informed consent.
- Provides compassionate support through all process phases.
- Help patients become independent by meeting care goals and measuring those goals against patient healthcare outcomes, adjusting as necessary.
- Quality care assurance, following state and nursing guidelines and standards.
- Work on a multidisciplinary team to discuss, assess and resolve patient problems, yet able to work independently.
- Procedure compliance.
- Provides documentation which reflects services for each client in accordance with licensure standards.
- Maintains the confidential nature of all clients and facility activities.
- Maintains required training and continuing education.
- Maintains Standards of Ethical Conduct.
- Complies with all DreamLife Recovery policies and procedures.
- Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, assists in educating clients about health problems and medical care.
- Infection control protocol.
- Charting patient care in patient chart and department charts.
- Documenting and communicating nursing care with next shift.
- Patient confidentiality.
- Troubleshooting equipment.
- Maintain nursing supplies.
- Facilitates medication education for new clients and for all other clients starting new medications.
- Meets with therapists to provide information about client medical problems.
- Assists the treatment team in incorporating medical issues into treatment planning.
- Takes verbal orders from the Doctor, documents them in the client record, and carries them out accurately and professionally.
- Provides routine nursing care under the supervision of the Medical Doctor.
- Participate in regular department meetings and staff meetings
- Efficient utilization of supplies and equipment to prevent waste.
- Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility.
- Keeps and shares records and equipment.
- Participates in performance improvement, utilization revies, fire & disaster committees, and others as requested.
- Attends in-service education programs as assigned to learn new forms, procedures, and developmental skills.
- Has good work habits; gets things done in a timely, efficient manner with no excessive absences, is on time for scheduled shifts, and is prepared to begin work.
- Functions as a team member and contributes positively to the morale of staff.
- Performs additional duties, as deemed necessary, by supervisor.
- Maintains up to date training in CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, Fire Safety, and other areas mandated by organizational policies.

Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited trade school, college or university with major course work in nursing.
- A minimum of 2 years experience with chemical dependency and/or dual diagnosed clients, preferably in an out-patient setting.
- Licensed as an LPN nurse in the State of Pennsylvania and maintains current licensure per Pennsylvania requirements. Maintains current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
- Knowledge of Detox and Substance Abuse.
- Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and in Written Communication Skills.
- Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.
- Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies
- Knowledge of Workplace Violence Prevention
- Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program
- Knowledge of Safety Management / Infection / Risk Management.
- Proficient in all areas of personnel management.
- Maintains all necessary CEUs Licensing and trainings.
- Familiar with Community Resources.
