Job Summary: The Packaging Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of packaging operations within the company. This role involves strategic planning, coordination with various departments, and ensuring that packaging processes meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Lead and develop a team of packaging professionals, including private label associates and brand designers.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement packaging strategies that align with company goals and market trends.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with product managers to define project specifications for product, packaging, and label design.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international vendors to ensure timely procurement of packaging materials.
- Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control procedures to ensure all packaging meets company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of packaging materials and ensure optimal stock levels.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control packaging costs to ensure budget adherence.
- Innovation: Stay updated with the latest packaging technologies and trends to continuously improve packaging processes and materials.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in packaging management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Skills: Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. Proficiency in packaging software and tools.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, innovative, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel: Individual must be able to travel at least 50% of the time to other plants/locations
