What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional/Counselor position at Dreams of America?
Dreams of America is looking for a Direct Support Professional/Counselor to help inspire our students to inspire themselves. If you truly enjoy helping other people, we would love to speak with you! Responsibilities:
- Assist students to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals.
- Assist people with disabilities in developing social, motivational, and life skills.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students.
- Other duties as needed.
Our Requirements:
- Must enjoy helping people above everything else.
- Experience in working with people with disabilities is a major plus.
- Ability to adhere to regulations and standards.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to inspire and motivate.
- Ability to handle more than one student simultaneously.
- Other duties as needed.
- Opening is for our Irvine location only.
- Must fulfill state requirements which include Live Scan and Physical
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Reliable Vehicle that will seat up to 4 students.
Physical Requirements
- The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, and be mobile while performing the duties of this job, as well as use stairs occasionally.

- Additional hours available
- Up to $21.00 an hour based on experience
