Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department in daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role includes processing transactions, reconciling accounts, assisting with financial reporting, and preparing financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and posted timely.
Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of various accounts, including bank, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and balance sheet accounts.
Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Help in processing invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and managing accounts receivable.
Audit Support: Support internal and external audit processes by preparing requested documents and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing tax filings and maintaining accurate records for tax purposes.
Expense Tracking: Help track company expenses and ensure proper allocation across the budget.
Month-End and Year-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate reporting and timely deadlines are met.
Ad Hoc Reporting and Analysis: Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed for management and other departments.
Working Conditions
Typically full-time, office-based or hybrid, with some flexibility depending on the company.
Occasional overtime may be required during month-end or year-end close periods.
Compensation
Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
