We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Wood Post Grader to join our team in Sanford, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, grading, and sorting wood posts to ensure they meet industry standards and customer specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, knowledge of wood properties, and the ability to make critical decisions that impact product quality.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Inspection and Grading:** Examine wood posts for defects such as knots, stains, decay, splits, and other imperfections. Utilize industry grading standards to assign appropriate grades to each post.
- **Sorting and Marking:** Sort wood posts based on grade and quality. Clearly mark each post with its grade and any necessary processing instructions.
- **Quality Assurance:** Monitor and assess the quality of wood posts throughout the grading process. Collaborate with team members to address any quality issues and implement improvements.
- **Equipment Operation:** Operate and maintain grading equipment, ensuring it functions efficiently and safely. Perform routine checks and report any malfunctions.
- **Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of graded posts, including quantities, grades, and any defects identified. Assist in inventory management and reporting as needed.
- **Safety Compliance:** Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
