Description :
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for overseeing the procurement of inventory products across all DEM branches. This role ensures that purchasing activities align with company objectives by optimizing costs, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The Purchasing Agent collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to drive efficiency, cost savings, and supply chain effectiveness.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
- Initiate, prepare, process, and verify purchase orders following established guidelines to procure materials and goods within required delivery timelines.
- Manage and maintain a purchasing system or database to track transactions, supplier contracts, and inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing, ensure product quality, and monitor availability.
- Expedite delayed orders and resolve issues related to order changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, warehouse, and finance, to meet procurement needs efficiently and effectively.
- Analyze purchasing trends and inventory levels to optimize stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Review and maintain warranty procedures and RMA policies
- Work with internal teams to review surplus inventory processes and procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best procurement practices.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement operations and reduce costs.
