Role Summary/Purpose
The 10-week summer internship program being offered by Dresser Utility Solutions is designed to give students the opportunity for career exploration and development in chosen fields of study. This will give the intern the opportunity to use skills learned in his/her degree programs and the chance to learn new skills. The Human Resources Intern will have a "hands-on" role in various aspects of HR, including recruitment, compliance, record maintenance, employee engagement, labor relations, and other key areas within the department.

The Human Resources Intern will have a "hands-on" role in various aspects of HR, including recruitment, compliance, record maintenance, employee engagement, labor relations, and other key areas within the department.
Essential Responsibilities
- This role involves learning about company policies, labor laws, and best practices in HR while under the guidance of the HR department.
- Coordinate employee engagement events and projects relating to Dresser Utility Solutions' 145th anniversary.
- Assist with maintaining accurate employee records, both paper file and electronic.
- Help track and update compliance requirements.
- Aid in evaluating and improving existing HR workflows and processes.
- Learn how to navigate and utilize HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) platform effectively.
- Shadow HR staff and participate in team meetings.
- Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities. This individual will plan activities towards execution of assigned projects and will gain/give explanations on technical issues.
- Communicates with direct team and supervisor.
- Enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program.
- Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
- Highest degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality; demonstrated discretion in the handling of highly sensitive material and information.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to build, partner and maintain relationships. internally and with management/leadership.
- Resourceful, with good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Team player, willing to do a variety of tasks in support of the team.
- Problem-solving ability and the ability to manage multiple projects and demands through to timely completion.
- Exceptional computer skills are required, including extensive knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation and database software, proficiency with various e-mail, calendaring, meeting management, and related communications software.
- At the conclusion of the internship, interns will showcase their core competencies in an executive presentation to present accomplishments and lessons learned through the course of the internship.
