Associate Attorney—Springfield, Missouri Office
Dressler & Peters LLC, a boutique law firm with offices in Springfield, Missouri, Chicago and Indiana a focus in commercial finance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial equipment, aircraft and marine transactions, UCC and bankruptcy law seeks an Associate Attorney to join our litigation and transactional practice in our Springfield, Missouri office. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with experienced partners representing banks, private equity organizations, financial interests and funds in the role of outside general counsel, litigation counsel and/or transactional counsel litigating cases in federal and state courts, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, securitizations, cross-border transactions, trademarks and lending facilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in litigation, legal research, pleadings, discovery and motions, contract drafting and litigation, and/or bankruptcy law, and most importantly, must have a willingness to learn and be mentored by attorneys who are recognized experts in this area of law and serve on the boards and legal committees of major industry organizations.

Qualifications:
· Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
· Active Bar admission or plan to sit for the February bar
· Experience in commercial litigation, transactions, or bankruptcy law
· Proficient in legal research and writing with the ability to communicate issues clearly
· Ability to manage and organize workload, including maintaining communication with partners and staff
· Experience drafting and answering pleadings and motions
· Willingness to learn all aspects of litigation, mergers and acquisitions, contract writing, discovery and negotiating settlements
· Ability and confidence to work independently and collaboratively with the flexibility required to respond to exigences as they arise
· Eagerness to expand expertise in new legal areas
Preference will be given to those with previous experience, strong academic credentials, a judicial clerkship, law review experience and a demonstrated ability to play a substantive and supportive role in all aspects of legal representation.
