Job Title: MS-Paraprofessional/Secretarial Duties as Assigned
The school paraprofessional assists teachers and other school personnel in providing educational and related services to students. They work under certified teachers' supervision, helping implement lesson plans, provide individualized attention, and support the overall educational environment. The secretarial duties assigned would be to help support the administrative assistant, principal, staff, students, and parents. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school office. Those responsibilities include managing communications, maintaining records, and assisting with daily school operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Exam OR 60 hours of college credit
- Previous experience working with children preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.

- Previous experience in an administrative or secretarial role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and students, providing a welcoming and professional environment.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages and handle inquiries from parents, staff, and the public.
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Provide individualized support to students, including tutoring and behavior management.
- Assist with classroom management and organization.
- Supervise students in various settings, such as classrooms, lunchrooms, and playgrounds.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Participate in professional development activities and staff meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration.
- Respond to administrative requests promptly.
- Comply with all federal and state laws and district policies.
- Comply with regulations as to hours of arrival and departure from school.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
