JOB PURPOSE: Under general supervision, the Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all program mandates and standards for excellence are met on a daily basis with California State Department of Education, Early Education Support Division (EESD) Title 5, Funding Terms and Conditions; Title 22 Day Care Regulations; Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP); and Local, State, County, Fire and Building and Safety mandates. The Site Supervisor is also responsible for the provision of technical support and assistance to Teachers and Associate Teachers.
SUPERVISES: Associate Teacher, Teacher, Interns, and Volunteers
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the business of Drew CDC Child Care Centers in accordance with Drew CDC’s Employee Handbook.
- Perform supervision and manage center enrollment, marketing, budgeting for supplies; maintain staff retention and workforce expected level to achieve the program’s targets.
- Perform supervision and manage the implementation of the program utilizing the Creative Curriculum with STEM emphasis, DRDP, NAEYC Standards, Early Head Start Performance Standards and program’s Policies and Procedures Manuals and Operations Manual.
- Perform supervision and manage the Child Development Center to achieve the expected program outcomes, outputs including; maintaining the Center enrollment to achieve the Annual Agency Budget full-day enrollment count and on-going assessment data demonstrating consistency in contract compliance; maintain staff retention and workforce to achieve the program targets.
- Perform supervision and manage staff work performance through the coordination of training/workshops and the Supervision 4 Success model to provide ongoing support to staff.
- Perform monitoring of the Drew CDC Child Development Center to assess the areas of growth and change for continuous improvement of the program which including training and support for staff and customer satisfaction.
- Perform Supervision and manage to minimize and complaints, internal and external, from clients and staff for effective operations of Child Development Center.
CONTACTS AND RELATIONSHIPS: Director of Early Childhood Education/Early Head Start & Alternative Payment, Parents, Staff, children, consultants, and others.
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: Budgeting for supplies/materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A. in Child development/E.C.E., human development or related discipline;
- Site Supervisor permit or higher;
- 6 units in Administration/Supervision;
- 3 units in mentoring;
- If in a toddler program, must have 6 units in Toddler development;
- Minimum of 3 years of Supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical requirements of this position are defined as light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions (classroom and office): Activities occur inside and outside.
