What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crane Operations Technician - Marine Projects position at DRG Construction Group LLC?
We’re seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our marine construction crew. This role involves operating cranes on barges or land to assist in building seawalls, docks, boat lifts, and other waterfront structures. Safety, precision, and teamwork are key. 75% of our work is located on the south shore of Nassau County with 25% of our work being located on the North Shore and Suffolk County. Experience working on barges & installing commercial/residential seawalls is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Operate lattice boom and/or hydraulic cranes to drive piles and lift materials
- Set and remove pilings for docks, seawalls, and marine foundations
- Work closely with ground crew to complete lifts safely and accurately
- Conduct daily inspections and maintain crane equipment
- Load and unload materials and assist with site setup/breakdown
- Follow safety protocols for crane operation on water and land
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating cranes in construction (marine experience highly preferred)
- NCCCO certification or equivalent
- Ability to work on barges and around water
- Strong understanding of crane safety procedures
- Team-oriented and dependable
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
- Experience with marine pile driving
- Familiarity with working from a floating platform or barge
- TWIC card or OSHA certification a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
