Federal Construction Site Superintendent

DRI, Inc.
Medford, OR Full Time
POSTED ON 3/18/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/18/2025

If you have federal government contracting experience as either a federal worker or on the contracting side, you will be shortlisted for the position. However, if you do not, it is absolutely not a requirement and we have a long history of training new personnel without federal experience to excel within DRI, Inc.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Superintendent to oversee construction projects from inception to completion primarily focusing on the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon and surrounding areas. We focus exclusively on federal government construction projects to include the Department of Veterans Affairs, National Park Service, US Forest Service, among others. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. We have grown faster than expected in the Rogue Valley and you will join an already established team of Project Mangers, Site Superintendents, and the company President to help you get up to speed.

We feel like we have an exciting company with an emphasis on enjoyment of your job, time with your family, great coworkers, and not working just to work. We also do not have a brick and mortar office but instead we all work remotely therefor when you are not on the job site, you take your meetings at home. When it's time to work, we expect you to work hard and efficiently. With that said, you will have the opportunity to oversee exciting construction projects at places like the White City VA Medical Facility, Oregon Caves, Crater Lake National Park, etc. We have a long track record of completing projects for some of the most treasured historical sites of our nation.

We put a lot of faith and trust in our Site Superintendents expecting you to be the face of the company when dealing with the federal government representatives, subcontractors, and visitors on our job site. Being a steadfast professional at all times is absolutely critical to this role.

Duties

  • Oversee daily operations on the construction site to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and laborers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project progress using construction management software such as Prolog or ProCore.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that work meets specified standards.
  • Prepare reports on project status, including any challenges or delays encountered.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., ProCore).
  • Willingness to learn new technologies to better improve communication.
  • Experience with budgeting and cost estimation for construction projects.
  • Ability to create and manage project schedules effectively.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes in construction.
  • Competence in an array of construction trades.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges on-site promptly.

On most projects, you will be filling the Site Superintendent role however, there may be times where you may need to fill in as a Safety Officer or Quality Control Manager. This is due to the staffing requirements for the federal government agencies. If you are a proactive leader with a passion for construction management and a commitment to delivering high-quality results, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity as a Site Superintendent.

A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. In lieu of a formal education, you may be asked to write a report or schedule to demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively.
