Position Overview: As a Process Improvement Technician, you will play a key role in identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvements within our cannabis production and manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, optimize production processes, and drive cost savings while maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about driving operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives. This position includes assisting in Cultivation or Facilities related tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in cultivation, post-harvest processing, or facilities related tasks as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement through data analysis, observation, and collaboration with stakeholders across different departments.
- Conduct time and motion studies, value stream mapping, and process mapping to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in production workflows.
- Analyze production data, including yield, cycle time, downtime, and quality metrics, to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
- Develop and implement solutions to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement process improvements, including new equipment, automation, and technology solutions.
- Train production staff on new processes, procedures, and technologies to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements through performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and project groups focused on process optimization, new product development, and cost reduction initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cultivation and post-harvest processing or process improvement, continuous improvement, or lean manufacturing, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Total Quality Management is preferred.
- Experience with process mapping, value stream mapping, and other process improvement tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours and travel as needed.
