Job Type: Full Time

Pay $ hourly, based on experience

Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age

Reports to: Executive Housekeeper

As the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will supervise, direct, assist, and assure the completion of housekeeping tasks assigned to Room Attendants, Lobby Attendants and Housepersons in guest rooms, corridors and public spaces to maintain Driftwood’s high standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities Include

  • Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff, providing input for counseling, termination, performance evaluations, training, and development.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget. Monitor performance against plan.
  • Implement and maintain cost control systems for staffing, linen inventories, and cleaning supplies.
  • Assist with associate mentoring, training, and development; provide fair and equitable feedback to attain maximum level of guest service.
  • Ensure quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs.
  • Schedule staff according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy.
  • Maintain room quality based on Driftwood and hotel guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain required level of cleanliness in rooms, storage areas, laundry, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate associates to achieve work goals.
  • Train new associates.
  • Ensure safety standards are strictly followed.
  • Enforce procedures for the acceptance, security, and return of guest lost and found items.
  • Enforce procedures for security of on-loan equipment.
  • Maintain productivity and labor cost goals.
  • Conduct inventories of linen, supplies, and equipment as required.
  • Order and receive supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Immediately alert hotel management of emergency situations via all communication avenues
  • Ability to accurately use various office software.

Personal Skills

  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to accurately report information.
  • Ability to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and hotel policies and procedures; hold subordinates accountable for same.
  • Conduct and attend required meetings.
  • Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change.
  • Consistently maintains positive demeanor.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development.
  • Conducts him\herself, acts and dresses professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates, and holds them accountable for same.
  • Understands and communicates the Driftwood Mission.
  • Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Conveys company information, decision, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis.
  • Works to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workers.
  • Relevant training and experience required.
  • Additional language ability preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Minimum lifting and pulling of 20 pounds.
  • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
  • Hearing, writing, typing.
