- Greet visitors to the HR office, assist with general inquiries from employees and applicants.
- Maintain job requisition log and internal job posting notices.
- Assist with posting of open positions and other recruitment tasks.
- Create new hire packets, assist with employee onboarding and new hire orientation.
- Ensure I-9 compliance.
- Enter new hire/change of associate information (address, tax, marital status, etc.) into HR system.
- Maintain electronic filing system of personnel files, workers compensation files, and other human resources filing systems.
- Assist with Open Enrollment, and employee questions regarding insurance.
- Assist with tracking and ensuring compliance with all Marriott and Driftwood employee training requirements.
- Correspondence and phones as needed.
- Create Birthday/Anniversary Lists and post monthly.
- Maintain employee bulletin boards and assist with employee morale enhancing projects.
- Prepare communication/memos to managers and associates as needed.
- Perform any related duties as requested by Human Resources Director or General Manager.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
- Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Reports unsafe conditions to management.
- Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in team member handbook).
- Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred.
- Minimum of one-year hotel or human resources experience.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to access and accurately input information into a computer.
- Ability to set-up and maintain electronic filing systems.
- Ability to follow written/and verbal instructions.
- Ability to learn and understand benefit systems and plans.
- Considerable skill in the use of a calculator and prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and help resolve conflicts.
- Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Ability to sit and/or stand continuously to perform essential job functions for a duration of the shift.
